We are seeking a motivated Intellectual Property Researcher to join us on a part-time or contract basis. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in intellectual property research and strategy within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with CASPR’s leadership to explore the patent landscape related to GLP-1RAs and their application to treating substance use disorders. The insights from this work will inform CASPR’s efforts to advance innovative treatments and drive systemic change in addiction medicine.
What You’ll Do
Conduct detailed patent landscape analyses related to GLP-1RAs, focusing on applications for substance use disorders.
Review and summarize existing patents, scientific literature, and regulatory filings.
Identify gaps and opportunities in intellectual property development.
Assist in drafting reports and recommendations for strategic IP decisions.
Collaborate with CASPR’s team to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
What You’ll Need
Undergraduate degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, or experience in the biotech industry.
Current enrollment in or completion of a degree program in intellectual property law, or relevant legal experience.
Strong research and analytical skills with familiarity in patent databases and prior art search tools.
Passion for public health, biotechnology, or addiction medicine.
Ability to work independently, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
